About ScreenLine
Screenline and its principals have a long and proud history of supporting New Zealand film & documentary makers. Mark Galloway formed the film distribution company Proequity Entertainments in 1978 and was associated with the distribution of a number of early ground breaking New Zealand films such as The Silent One, Quite Earth, Mr. Wrong and Sylvia. In 1985 together with his wife Ingrid they formed the film & video distribution company Stage Door which continued supporting New Zealand producers. Stage Door brought the highly acclaimed documentary series Memory Line to the Australasian markets with over 150,000 units sold to date. Stage Door was also associated with the largest ever selling video & DVD in New Zealand the spectacular tribute to New Zealand; Kiwi Country. On the film distribution side Stage Door released Rain & the Price of Milk. In 1989 Ingrid started Video Collectors one of the first direct marketing companies specializing in Video then DVD films and documentaries with a strong local content. Ingrid brought together all the material then available in New Zealand and made it available through Video Collectors catalogues. In 2000 Stage Door formed a joint venture DVD distribution company with Magna Pacific of Australia and over the next five years continued supporting the local industry. Films such as Once Where Warriors, Sleeping Dogs, Goodbye Pork Pie and Utu where re-released through this period. In 2005 after Magna Pacific took control of this joint venture, Mark & Ingrid formed the Film & DVD distribution company Screenline and have continued supporting New Zealand productions. In this time they have released the surfing DVD's Coastal Disturbance & Noze Zone, re-released on DVD the Memory Line Collection along with The Big Picture, the truly amazing story of the history of art in New Zealand. More recently Screenline has reintroduced New Zealand to its favourite son, Fred Dagg. What Next Screenline in conjunction with the New Zealand Film Commission will be releasing 60 back catalogue features over the next twelve months which are currently not available. These films represent a cross range of the last 30 years of film making in New Zealand and along with all other titles under license in New Zealand, will be offered on this web site. We also intend to offer on this site a wide range of documentarie so anyone interested in New Zealand film & documentaries will have a one stop site to acquire this product. The Cathy Cinema Kerikeri Screenline has also acquired the Cathay Cinema in Kerikeri and over the next twelve months will redevelop the site to a modern multi screen complex. |
